Scope of Child Psychologist Profession:

Child psychologist is an individual with a doctoral degree in psychology, which has a special interest in working with children. There are not only degrees in child psychology however in personality psychology, cognitive psychology, Physiological Psychology and developmental psychology that could aid in this career. The student might choose to enrol in the doctoral program to work with children or conduct research relating to children and growth of its activities. In addition to studying other aspects of psychology of child psychologist, as a rule, a particular interest in topics relating to children and families, and might make her doctoral dissertation or research on the issue, with regard to these issues. She could work as a therapist, with majority of her work at the centre for counselling children. It might be part of the research group that assesses the child to study and comes with a new psychometrics (testing) to assess the child's growth. She could work as a consultant to school districts and to assist in the growth of special education programs. In addition, the child psychologist might combine diverse areas of activities, like consulting and research or research and evaluation of the student.
