Scope of Nurse Profession:

Nurses are professionals who provide care and support for the patients suffering from acute and long term diseases long-term diseases, diseases such as diabetes or arthritis, or those that require surgical intervention. They focus on the needs of patients rather than a disease or condition. They also promote good health and well-being through education. Nurses plan and implement services in an interdisciplinary team, but the main point of contact for patients. Nurses work mainly in hospitals, although they are playing a progressively more prominent role in society, with a health centre or general practice, and in homes, offices specialists, schools and shelters. In order to become a nurse, a person should initially complete education and training required for a career as a nurse. While a person can become a nurse to Foundation Degree, many employers in this area recommend the achievement of Post Graduate Degree of Nursing. Once a person is a nurse, he or she can work in the Government approved training programmes to become a nurse. Knowledge areas that are useful for this profession mainly include pharmacology, Maternal Nursing, Paediatrics Nursing etc.
