Scope of Social worker Profession:

Social workers are the professionals who offer direction and guidance for persons in crisis. Their clients array from the unemployed to children who need foster homes, older people who are alone and there is no one to care for them. They help their customers attain government funds, training or treatment. Habitually they start legal action in cases of child exploitation. Different organisations employ social workers in public institutions of social welfare, private social service agencies, schools, hospitals, clinics, and amusement and rehabilitation centres. Social worker can also work as the counsellor of orphanage or the families who have lost all their possessions in the floods and other natural catastrophe. Social workers help individuals resolve their troubles through negotiation and well-planned activities. For most positions, a graduate or post graduate degree in social work is essential, although a limited number of jobs for people with bachelor's degrees. Social workers generally hold the specialty in sociology, psychology or social sciences and courses in related fields such as economics, child studies, education and political science. The set of skills useful for this profession includes knowledge of Public Relations, Community relations, social psychology, etc.
