Scope of Special Education Teacher Profession:

"Special education" can be defined as a school for children with various disabilities, that may be physical, mental or development. These disabilities can also consist of visual or hearing impairments, brain injuries, dyslexia, retardation, autism, and many others. Special education teachers adapt general education curricula to convene the child's individual needs and skill level. The responsibilities of teachers associated with special education, goes beyond the standard school subjects, as they also teach basic life skills as dressing, and socialization of children with mild or moderate disabilities. Special education teachers have a broad range of options that determine the features of their tasks. They have the prospect to work with children of any age from infancy through high school graduation, for example. They may decide to work with children with physical disabilities, or they may decide to focal point on children who are mentally confronted or development. In some instances, the special needs of children placed in regular classes and special education teachers in the classroom side by side with traditional teachers. The skill set useful for this occupation includes knowledge of teaching and learning, teaching for special fields, Community relations and Educational Psychology.
